si vis pacem, para bellum – Artist and Writer Announcement
Ahead of the publication of Mousai’s first intersecting issue – si vis pacem, para bellum – it is a pleasure and a privilege to share the writers and artists whom constitute the publication (pictured in the image, and listed below).
It has been, and remains a blessing to have worked with these exceptional and talented people. They house vulnerability, trauma, grief, loss, and fear, yet also strength, courage, anger, resistance, and love.
Their words are vital. The trust placed in me to work with and publish their voices is an honour and blessing that I never take lightly, nor for granted, in anything or anyone I work with via Mousai.

The call is collective. It is mine and ours as much as it is yours and theirs. For there is no freedom for some, without freedom for all.
At its core, Mousai concerns itself with the broad themes of transgression, esotericism, and liminality. With this first intersecting issue, we consolidate our commitment to platforming and publishing marginalised and othered voices.
Trans+ people are experiencing violence upon our bodies, our rights, our healthcare, and our ability to exist within the world; at all, let alone in safety or with respect and dignity.
The gaping crack we call the world is issuing segregation, exclusion, erasure, and a very real and politicised attempt to make living as a trans+ person near impossible.
We will call it what it is – fascism – so we can fight it for what it is.
This issue is intersectional, with artists and writers from across the trans+ and human experience. Mousai extends that intersectionality to stand with, and fight to platform voices from all marginalised and othered peoples.
We are here. We have always been here. We will always be here.
….si vis pacem, para bellum….
